FBC Starkville Spring Break Team in Marks, MS
For the past 4 years, First Baptist Church Starkville has partnered with us over Spring Break to put on a Kids Camp for any child in the community ages 3-18. The church brings college students and families to help put on a full week-long camp that teaches the gospel through worship, activities, art projects, and games. They have built deep relationships over the years, and this year they averaged 60 kids a day. It was a beautiful way for our kids to spend break witnessing the group model what it means to love Jesus and each other. For example, one night during worship we broke out in prayer groups, and they modeled what it looks like to pray together as a family by wrapping their arms around the kids and praying together. Also, every day after camp the team would break up into small groups to engage the community. They went door to door to assess the needs and strengths of families in Marks, while ultimately getting to share God's love for them. This group does so much in one week, and they are missed when they leave.
During this virus outbreak, the kids have been begging FBCS to come back and continue camp since they are out of school. We are thankful for the many seeds that God has planted in the lives of our children through FBCS! Thank you to everyone that came and spent their week with us!
